To reparate the cost, give back everything I lost
Or should I say, “just go away, I never want to see your face again”?
The door, it opens, I step into the sunlight
And ahh, the feeling of freedom
There is a star I look at every night I’m able
But every night the clouds cover the sky, I can’t seem to find my way
And the world seems to crumble around me
And by the time the season’s change, all that remain are memories
Not to be depended on, the warmth and sunshine better be enough

Breaking the Boundary

Sun breaks the sky
Blazing glass and steel
And I, gaze up out as a face in the crowd
A rock set ablaze
Thoughts fill my head
And live and die inside
As I pause to sit and unwind
Take my time
All of my senses
Open up, take it in
My mind drifts back to this natural state
A place where I am free
On this meandering river, courses detour
And they are cut off, as a channel begins
Breaking the boundary
The story of a man is his mark it seems
From the hammer, the book, or a dream
But my pages have always turned
Towards a place unknown to explore, towards the land
Towards the strands of red earth reaching up
Civilization ought to take a page from your book
Though eras pass, still here you stand, an echo of that which truly lasts
Sometimes when the river speaks to me
All I hear is babbling
Listen, let the voices carry me,
On their way
Break away
(Run past the edge of the world)
A silent roar from the sight before, an expanse, vast and remote
It seems a land, a world apart, the home I no longer know
At least this place will always have wonders to show
It's never too late to reach out and say hello
Stand up and break on out

The road is long and lonely, and home is far away
We’ve been moving slowly for the past couple days
So now as the sun sets over this unfamiliar place
We sing and dance aloud to attract a friendly face
And now I see the way your lyrics spoke to me
As we make our way across the plains
For every single car that passes us by
I am more grateful for the scene that remains
Our dreams, though a wondrous sight to see
Can never compare with the beauty of our reality (x3)
Our dreams, though a wondrous sight to see
Can’t satisfy, I would die, if my life were that easy
Breathe in the air from far away
Dreaming of long ago, but it feels like yesterday
A creaking weather vane, rain soaked window panes
My past seeps into view
From this vantage have I changed, and become someone completely knew
Or as the years pass by do I remain the same
All well traveled roads lead to homes that we’ve forgotten
New cut paths sing aloud to those who’ve lost their way
Settle down, or blaze a trail, there is no one direction
Old worlds and those built from scratch will always be connected

Thousands of miles, and hundreds of stories to tell from that time
So when did I get to this place? Somehow I can’t get over this one
And the burden of leaving is too much to bear, so I’ll choose to stay
And keep letting my excuses build up, they’ll cave on me soon enough
Days pass me by, and turn into weeks, into months, into years
And I am quick to forget all the things that have built up my life
And brought me to where I am now
I feel so far-gone from so many people that I had once grown up to love
It feels strange to say, but it’s time that I went on my way
So I can start living again
Fight through the wind, and the rain, to the other side
I can’t afford to forget that my life is mine

Through mists we ride with sails held high,
searching for the wind.
O’er wave and froth we’ve traveled far,
for chance, for favor, for whim.
I want to feel the wind beneath my feet
But the winds gone stale
I can feel the water calling me
Falling on empty sails
It grabs my heart inside my chest
The spray: A salt incense
And with a gale’s forcefullness
a storm rolls into port on every breath
Feel the breeze
Feel it moving you
Hold this new breath in
Feel the power
of being impaired
Each step is like falling into thin air
Took off my shoes with intent to go swimming
Each lace a knotted mess
Hoist up the sails and got lost in the rigging
Minutiae that anchors us into the depths
Feel the breeze
Feel it moving you
Hold this new breath in
Feel the power
of being impaired
Each step is like falling into thin air

Pass On

Look at me, can you see the deterioration beginning to let itself in
Every day another mark makes itself at home
Rigid back, lasting pain
A mysterious loss of energy, a growing sense of apathy
A darker cloud rolling in, a deeper scar growing in
Anxiety presses so hard on my chest
I’m struggling with all my might to find my breath
My thoughts can only rest on my regrets
You’ll never understand until you experience it for yourself
And by then it will be too late anyway
Memories display my past, and show me a time rich and full
Flowing with dreams and plans of what I could be
The distraction kept a troubling feeling at bay
And in the end, it was this very sense of freedom that did me in
As my life fades behind me, my expectations drift away, and into history
Is there any way to grant me an extension, there’s still so much to be done
If only I’d recognized through all of life’s distractions that I would not remain
Strong bright and free, there is no end to a path you can’t see
Will I lose everyone when I die?
Or will my fears make everyone turn away?
Don’t dwell on death, but on life
It’s my only one
One day we will all pass on

Could it be said that we tried to rekindle our light with the ashes that were left, or
Should it be said that we never should have touched this? A product of our desperation
I guess I should have known the possibility of this lasting for very long
If it doesn’t end now, it will end someday anyway
The pain may have just begun
But one day I’ll wake up and think the same of you as I’d think of anyone
One day I’ll wake up and think the same of you as I’d think of anyone
